With the Earth full of animals, large and small, you are never all alone. Perhaps you do not see them, but you have company under the ground, on the ground and underfoot, and up above. We love some of them, birds for example, but some are distasteful to us. There are moles and ants under our lawn; we can see little mounds. These slugs don't have mounds. We need a hedgehog to eat them. Caterpillars are prettier!
