I looked at a page of an old book - a hundred years old. Today should be the feast of St Agnes. But is there a party in St Agnes this week? No, but it is a good day for using a love charm, it seems. The children are in school anyway. So, there are no lovely photos. I wrote two chapters of my book (about white rabbits and white elephants) instead.

What a beautiful day for a trip to the park with the children. Near the tennis courts there's a playground with all sorts of play equipment. The children like climbing on a climbing frame, spinning on a roundabout, swinging on a swing or on an exercise frame. They are quite daring. Their grandfather can exercise too!

Sometimes the sky in the night is clear and cloudless. In the night frost comes and the grass is white in the morning. There is white frost on the ground, but there are beautiful colours in the sky. The frost thaws and the grass is green again. 2026 Dedh Whetek De Gwener, whetegves mis Genver Friday, 16th January Loos ew an ebòrn hedhyw, loos ha gleb. Nag ew da genam an gewer ma. Cas ew genam an mis ma, hir an nosow ha heb cher an dedhyow. Mall ew genam mos dhe'n treth en awel moy  howlek ha moy havek. Da ew genam kerdhes en min an mor, saw garow ewa lebmyn. Heglew ew an mordarth e'n nos, saw nag ewa hewel. Res ew dhebm còrtos. The sky today is grey, grey and wet. I do not like this weather. I hate this month, with the long nights and cheerless days. I am looking forward to going to the beach in sunnier and more summery weather. I like walking in the edge of the sea, but it's rough now. The surf is audible in the night but it is not visible. I must wait.

The day today wasn't so bad. I spent the morning preparing a large pan of soup with my favourite vegetables and red lentils. I washed some clothes, a table cloth and a linen towel, but there wasn't enough sun to dry them on the clothes line in the garden. Instead, I was throwing a ball for the dog. I do not like these short days. I do not like these long nights. I cannot sleep well in the long nights. I need sunlight to give me energy. I should buy a light box, perhaps, for the morning. My brain is not very happy. My mood is low. I can't wait for the spring.

There is too much water by our house. The rain barrel is full, overfilled. There is no room for more. But we are waiting for the wind. There could be wind gusts 100 miles per hour. Will the tall tree be safe? We are ready with candles, if the electricity is lost. Quarter to seven: the wind is here.
