"In summer remember winter." This is a proverb (an old saying). It is summer, certainly, and the weather is hot. However, I'd prefer not to think about the winter and cold weather. There are lots of apples in the apple trees and on the ground. I can't pick or pick up every one of them. Once upon a time this district was full of apple orchards (for making cider, probably). The girls used to come from the next village with their baskets for the harvest. The orchards and the girls have gone, but there are still a few old trees here and there. What shall I do with so many bruised or little apples? They won't last long.
