There were a lot of pumpkins in our neighbours' garden. Why were there so many? Nobody could eat them all! Halloween is coming. They left two pumpkins on our wall. The little boy was very happy. With knives and spoons we could hollow out a pumpkin and cut a face with a grinning mouth. Now it needs a candle.

Can I write a story without using the verb "to be"? No. But perhaps I could write a story with the verb "to be" in every sentence. I would like to try. The story will be very simple!
