There's a pecking order in our garden - based according to size. I like to feed the birds early in the morning. First today I see two robins. They wake up the earliest and they are not afraid of me. They come while I am still in the garden. Other birds and squirrels wait - they are nervous. Two squirrels come and the robins fly away, into the hedge. A gang of noisy jackdaws arrives and a squirrel chases them off - though a jackdaw sneaks in behind his hairy tail. Then a magpie comes for a second. And finally, the biggest bird, a crow came to finish off the food.
