They are not embroidery exactly, but there is some embroidery in them. They are patchwork, patched with various bits of cloth. There are several words stitched on the patches: metal and names connected with mining. Some of the patches look old; they are stained (with tea or rust?). There are images of engineering: beam-engines, engine houses, a man-engine with miners, and a balmaiden.

Today we went to Redruth by bus for a COVID19 vaccination. We were invited because of being over 75 years of age. Unfortunately, the pharmacy has the vaccine but the supplier didn't send any needles! We will have to come back another time. We had to while away the time till the next bus. We went to the library and found some books in the Cornwall section. There is an interesting wall-hanging on the wall.
